Rotherham!
WHO FANCIES A
FREE
creative writing TASTER CLASS?
Have you always wanted to write? Do you feel you have a book inside you? Do you have absolutely no idea where to start? Did you have a bad experience at school? Have you put it off because you’re afraid your work will be no good? Are you anxious about your spelling, grammar, or reading skills? Do you think writing is only for very clever, privileged people, who have nothing better to do?
I've got you covered!
Coming in October '22, Rotherham beginners Writing Class!
A six week in-person course with me, Amanda, published writer and professional mentor, dedicated to getting you on the page, no matter how terrified you might be, or how terrible you think your spelling is. If you are over 18, live in Rotherham, and have only ever written a shopping list before, this class is for you....and the first class is FREE!
The details...
Cut to the chase Amanda, how much does it cost?

The first session is absolutely FREE! So if it's not for you, no harm done. If you love it and want to sign up for the whole course, it's £50 payable in advance, which makes it less than a tenner per session! Refreshments are included and all the materials you need, as well as a ton of support from me and as much knowledge, advice and experience as I can pack in.
What's it all about? What will I be doing?

Lots of good stuff! Each week we will discuss a topic designed to boost your confidence and help you get past whatever it is that's getting between you and the page. We'll be talking about the inner critic (yeah, we all have one), the nuts and bolts of creative writing (description, character, plot), getting organised, and why its good for your health to write regularly. Then there will be a prompt, followed by time to let rip....and write. There will be space at the end for us to share our work together and give feedback if you want it. Each week you will get a homework task that you DO NOT HAVE TO COMPLETE. I mean, I'd love you to, but I am so far away from your fourth year maths teacher it's untrue. I will be there to help if you're stuck and I promise to hold your hand as much as you need me to.

Oh, and you'll be drinking tea and eating biscuits.

How come you're running this?

Because I've been there. I put off writing for a long, long time. I'm here now, and it's all good, but I really wish I'd done it sooner. I could have really done with something like this.

Okay, but what do I get out of it?

By the end of the course you will....

-
understand what writing can do for you
-
be way more confident putting pen to paper
-
know how to manage self criticism and procrastination
-
know who you want to be as a writer
-
have a small portfolio of work to be proud of
-
have made some new writer friends
-
have a plan for your writing future

When and where is this thing happening?
The FREE taster class is Saturday, October 29th, 2022 10-11.30am at Riverside Library and Neighbourhood Hub.
The rest of the course runs for five more consecutive Saturdays, finishing on December 10th.

I’m still scared. Do I have to show anyone my work?

Nope. This is a completely non-scary thing. I will not call on you randomly to speak, and I will never force you to do anything you don’t want to do. But I’m really hoping that you do feel safe enough to share a teeny bit, ‘cos that’s where the magic is.

Ready to book?

Email me, Amanda, at reconcilecreative@gmail.com to let me know you want to come along and I will send you a confirmation. Exciting! If you are totally raring to go and want to book a place on the whole course immediately, I'll send you a link to make payment. If it turns out after the first session its not your bag, I will happily refund the rest of the course. After that the course is non-refundable.
Places are limited so be quick!

Hmm, I don’t know about this. I still have questions.

I totally understand. Contact me here and let’s talk!

Here's me (the one without the fur), looking not scary at all. See? Nothing like your fourth year maths teacher.
